Every week I review three releases by unsigned artists that are featured on Core Jam Radio and played live every Wednesday 7.30 to 10 pm. This week I feature the following releases;
Oscar Quick-Cans of Soup single
Oscar Quick is the talent behind the music blog 'Needs More Cowbell' and he has released the songs Skinhead In A Dress and more recently Cans of Soup in collaboration with the equally talented producer Vojtech Podolsky aka Antonio Zee who can be found on his twitch tv channel with his live mixing sessions every week on 'Antonio_Zee'. Bass, drums, guitar and violin are mixed beautifully by Antonio Zee to give Oscar a power pop platform to deliver this hard hitting and thoughtful message to the exiting orange President! See/hear the release on YouTube link;

Torn Sail-Bible single
Huw Costin's band Torn Sail have released one of my favourite albums this year with the title Leisure And Technology, a lot has already been written about the work and so I'm not sure what other positives I can add. Bible is the latest three track single which is from the album, it is a beautiful song from a beautiful album, with vocals from both E.R Thorpe and Huw Costin along with sparse guitar work up to 1 minute 40 seconds before patient bass and drums lay down a powerful rhythm that holds you steady whilst the soaring vocals take you higher and higher.......you can hear the single on the following link but better still you can buy the album on glorious vinyl;
Always Upstream-You Are The One single
The Black Forest skater punk scene is alive and kicking with this German super punk band's 4 track ep. The band members all come from other German punk bands including S.A.D.. NO AUTHORITY and DRINKING SQUAD. This is fast paced punk like it used to be and you're lucky to get a song over 2 mins 30 secs, blink and you'll miss this ep because just after 9 minutes of play all four tracks are over! Hard hitting guitar riffs, fast and tight bass/drums and snarling vocals....how we always remembered Punk but now with German attitude.
