When This Day Has Gone is the second release from the Dark Follows Hollow lockdown sessions and is out on 22nd March.
Following last month's release Touched, noisemaker Bassey has again collaborated with Jem Woolley and now releases the single When This Day Has Gone . Another home recorded/low budget single from the Dark Follows Hollow Sessions, that will hopefully help inspire others to be their best whilst in lockdown and on zero funds.
There are five singles within The Dark Follows Hollow Sessions and they will be released approximately 6 weeks apart from each other. The first single was greatly received by the indie radio stations, podcasts and bloggers and exceeded all expectations including a showing of the video on Notts TV. It is hoped that the second single When This Day Has Gone will take the project to another level and a big thank you goes to many members of the indie arts community who have taken part in the video. Special thanks also goes out to Steve Oliver for putting all the video clips together and producing the final product.
Local Nottingham musicians and friends were given advance listens to all the songs and said;
Jack Wiles, Practical Lovers- 'It's lovely to hear such a wide range of influences at work here - from Joy Division to The Cure to Pink Floyd, right through to more modern electronic sounds, Bassey neatly blends them into something very much his own.'
Huw Costin, singer songwriter and frontman for Torn Sail-
A couple of years ago Bassey got in touch, looking for advice on writing and performing his songs. I could tell his was an authentic voice, his heart and soul shaping the words he'd started articulating around themes of love and loss in a crumbling world...... Post-lockdown I hope there is a good enough band out there that can take these songs live, and make them truly incendiary.
